Nukes are not magic wands, they are mostly only worth it for targeting cities and other very dense concentrations of value and production. An enemy state going down this path will probably start out with cities full of humans (and will probably want to "mine" those cities for materials), but its growing robot production will be more broadly distributed (and EMP shielded) and therefore much harder to destroy. And they will of course have their own nukes. I agree it's possible that a global nuclear war, if it starts early enough, ends with no one still having the ability to operate AI. But that's not exactly the most attractive way to shut it all down, is it?
Why is this not a typical data augmentation method for training deep networks? It would allow the networks to learn invariants that's align with humans. Currently, I suppose none of these dithered images would be correctly classified.

ADB is still there. It just requires a second device, which is the intended use for adb (ie. for debugging/development), not as a hack for escalating privileges.
They were built by the same companies doing the exploitation. They didn't invest billions of dollars without any kind of goal what they are building this for.

This sort of rhetoric appears for every benchmark, and somehow it always rises to the top. A few days ago there was a Geekbench 7 submission on here (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49025812), and again the top comment was someone dismissing it, using the classic "but I want a benchmark specifically for exactly the thing I do" perfect-is-the-enemy-of-good nonsense.
I, one of those end users, absolutely use these benchmarks as heavy input considerations. Indeed, the vast majority of people do. "Completely meaningless" is just nonsense, of course, and while it doesn't perfectly map to every use, there is a pretty good correlation with suitability for specific tasks.
I mean, it's telling that your gamut of examples are three models that are within spitting distance of each other on the broadest benchmarks.
Not to mention that the linked page includes a pretty broad list of specialization benchmarks.

It depends on a remote endpoint that can go down at any point, and depends on the company's policies present and future. It is functionally asking for permission to another party to unlock it, and that would not fall under the umbrella of ownership through being able to install "my own OS" on it, at least for me. And a simple OTA update is all it takes to add multiple verification steps to it, such as providing your ID/using your verified Google account, or just take it out.
If the users' willingness to do stupid things is boundless, then locking down the system further isn't really of any benefit, since users will continue to venture as far as they need to, no matter the number of safety barriers they've passed. The only solution to that problem is a fully locked down device (which I hope we can all agree should not be the only option).
Use an AOSP fork like grapheneos or lineageos. Barring that, voting with their wallets and buying a HarmonyOS phone. If for whatever reason they're doing that too, there's probably more powerful forces behind this change (eg. government mandates) that won't be helped by spamming an issue tracker.
And if you don't think the Republican's will use this distrust to their advantage, well, I have a bridge to sell you. It's a very common tactic by them: create a problem that never existed, then wine about said problem.

The internet, as it has been, is quite an anomaly, but inevitably, power that the people have gets usurped one way or another. It's just a matter of time.
We’re at a small startup and we mix models. But mainly just between the major providers. I wouldn’t say it’s as much to avoid spending money as it is to get the maximum benefit out of different capability spectrums.

The examples given are "Bajillion Dollar Properties S01E07" (which is titled "Happy Ending" and involves real estate brokers getting massages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bajillion_Dollar_Propertie%24#... ) and "First Time Home Buyer Anal Fantasy" which I assume is actual porn. That seems much more like a human expanding their porn collection at work (and perhaps being disappointed that the first one they downloaded is just a comedy) than an algorithmic crawler.
